In this webinar, we will welcome Dr. Kota Miura as our guest speaker, who will deliver a lecture on important topics related to biological image analysis.

Dr. Miura is an expert in biological image analysis and a freelance bioimage analyst with research experience at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg.

He is also known as a co-author of “ImageJではじめる生物画像解析” and conducts educational activities aimed at providing researchers with basic skills in image analysis.

Furthermore, he is active in the international research community, serving as the vice chair of the Network of European BioImage Analysts (NEUBIAS).

Webinar Overview

1. Introduction to “適正な画像処理方法~雑誌投稿規定の解説~(第2版)” issued by the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED):

This section will explain the standards for image processing in academic journals, detailing appropriate image processing methods and practices to avoid improper handling. *Dr. Miura contributed to this booklet both as an co-author and as a peer reviewer.

2. Explanation of “型で実践する生物画像解析” by Dr. Kota Miura:

This will focus particularly on the “Reproducibility Checklist for Image Analysis and the Use of GitHub” section in the “論文出版編”, providing concrete methods for documenting the results of biological image analysis in academic papers.


3. Additionally, iGroup Japan will demonstrate the latest AI tools for the automatic detection of image misconduct in scientific papers.
